Teaching Philosophy
I strive to create a safe and friendly space for each and every one of my students. Singing can be vulnerable, and as an educator I seek to create confident performers who have excellent technique and expression. I am a strong believer that studying voice will not only grow one's singing voice, but it also grows who you are holistically as a person. Voice lessons are life lessons!
My teaching style is adaptable to all skill levels and vocal types. Together, we will personalize your technique in order to strengthen your singing abilities and expand your vocal range. Singing technique is imperative, but quality singing is rooted from trusting your training and letting go so that your talent can shine! As singers, of course we want to be able to learn to sound our best. However, it is equally important to FEEL our best while doing so. My approach to vocal training centralizes on the whole body, and I will give you the tools to remove unnecessary tension that we hold in our bodies in order to free your natural voice in the healthiest way possible. Lessons are constructed to also inform the student about the mechanics of their voice with analyzing vocal anatomy. In addition to learning about the voice, students are also taught music theory, which is an excellent skill to have that will heighten your musicianship and inform your singing.
